BECOME AN OFFICIAL

Getting started is simple: contact us if you are interested in becoming a judge, technical delegate, or official scorer.  Whether you’re a parent wanting to be more involved, a former athlete bringing competitive experience, or simply passionate about the sport, there’s a place for you on the hill.  You can start slowly by shadowing current officials, and attending clinics. Officials are compensated to ensure that U.S. Ski & Snowboard competitions run efficiently and fairly, and like athletes, you’ll develop your expertise over time. We offer clinics in person and via zoom where you can learn the skills necessary to be an official.  As you grow in experience, you may even want to become certified internationally as a FIS (International Ski Federation) official, which opens doors to working international events.
