We wanted to take the opportunity to provide an update on our construction planning at Utah Olympic Park. UOLF is in the final stages of completing master plan amendments with Summit County and we have continued working with our construction partners diligently to evaluate and adjust the timeline and sequencing of both the hotel construction and the pool specific maintenance projects that affect the Freestyle Pool operations in order to minimize disruption as much as possible. As we mentioned in our update several months ago, both the larger development projects and the specific repairs to the pool are critical to the longevity of the pool functionality itself as well as to our continued effort to keep our facilities sustainable to 2034 and beyond. It will continue to be a balance of safety, functionality, and schedule impact as we navigate these next several years. We remain committed to making our best effort to minimize any disruption and communicate any anticipated changes as soon as they are confirmed but also minimize confusion by not messaging all the small adjustments along the way.

We are excited to announce that through our efforts and the effors of our construction partners to refine our plan we can confirm that Freestyle Pool operations will continue through Sunday, August 23, 2026 of this summer. This extension supports continuity in summer training schedules for both our development and elite athletes. It does however create a condensed construction window to complete the critical work on the filtration system and pool infrastructure. Our goal remains to complete this work and reopen the pool in spring 2027 with ideally no delay in opening. There are still many factors that could impact this but we are making every effort to meet a regular opening of the pool and will provide updates as the repair projects get under way at the end of the summer and construction progresses.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we balance high‑performance and development training needs with required capital improvements to the Freestyle Pool and our efforts to create the most vibrant and dynamic campus we can to support our athletic community for decades to come.

U.S. National Freestyle Championships

The U.S. National Freestyle Championships brings together the top competitors from each division in moguls, dual moguls, and aerials.

Mogul and Dual Moguls

Criteria

All U.S. Freestyle Mogul Ski Team athletes.
The top 16 U.S. athletes per gender from the current season (2025-26) NorAm Mogul Overall Grand Prix (The list does not change due to retirements or injury after the close of that NorAm Cup series.) who have not already qualified via criteria 1.
The next 30 ranked U.S. athletes from the Mogul National Ranking List #5 per gender per discipline who have not already qualified via criteria #1 and #2. Additional athletes will be invited via criteria #3 to replace those athletes who have qualified via criteria #3 but do not accept their spot, but not to replace those athletes that are not FIS age eligible, excluded by 46 their division, injured or competing in conflicting events.
A final ten (10) spots per gender will be allocated between the divisions based on the Divisional Allocations section below to be used at the divisions’ discretion. Divisions should notify the Freestyle Office (freestyle@usskiandsnowboard.org) of their allocations 48 hours after the invitation becomes valid. If the spot remains unused or divisions do not notify by the 48-hour deadline, the spot may be lost. If a division allocated athlete is invited to the event via criteria 3 as an alternate, the division will be allowed to choose a new division allocation. Divisions may not add to or change requirements for the quota spots described in this section apart from those spots designated as the divisional allocation.
